What Is Actually in Blue Beast

The vitamins come first because you will recognize them. The blends follow, with every amino acid and mineral named. How people feel varies.

Vitamin C
Vitamin C plays a role in normal immune function and in normal collagen formation. Of the four ingredients in this bag, it is the only single vitamin; the rest arrive as a complex or a blend.
B-Vitamin Complex (B1, B2, B3, B5, B6)
B1, B2, B3, B5 and B6 each have a part in normal energy metabolism. B2 also helps maintain normal red blood cells, and B6 normal protein metabolism.
Amino Acid Blend
The blend is arginine, citrulline, lysine and proline. Proline and lysine are two of the building blocks of collagen, a structural protein found throughout the body. Lysine is also essential, meaning the diet has to supply it.
Mineral Blend
Zinc contributes to normal protein synthesis. Magnesium is involved in normal muscle function, and copper in the normal transport of iron. Manganese, like copper, is needed only in trace amounts.

How Your Blue Beast Visit Works

Step 01

Pick a Time Around the Training Plan

Choose a day the plan leaves light, then send the address: home, the office on your first day back, or wherever the team is staying.

Step 02

Your Health Screening, Then the Drip

Your Wellness Angel screens you individually before setting anything up. That health screening decides whether Blue Beast is appropriate for you today, and a visit may be declined based on it.

Step 03

Rest While Blue Beast Runs

After the IV goes in, your Wellness Angel pulls up a chair and stays put until the bag runs dry. It takes 30 to 60 minutes. Somewhere in the race photos is a shot of you mid-stride. Go find it.

Who Books Blue Beast?

Runners, riders and rec-league regulars, usually right after the thing they trained for.

Deep in a Marathon Training Block

The plan lives in a color-coded spreadsheet, and every Saturday cell says the same thing: long run. Blue Beast goes on the Sunday after, at home, feet up, with the foam roller within reach and the spreadsheet closed for once.

Visiting for Race Weekend

You picked up your bib on Friday and stood in a start corral colder than the forecast promised. After the finish, the hotel room is as far as you intend to go. The drip stand goes up by the window, and Blue Beast runs while you check your splits.

A Rec-League Team with an All-Day Bracket

Pool play starts early, bracket games run into the evening, and Sunday looks much the same. If the team is sharing a rental or a block of hotel rooms, that is where the drips happen, for anyone on the roster who wants one.

The Late Game at the Rink

Adult-league ice goes to whoever will take the late slot, which is how a Tuesday game starts at a quarter to eleven. By the time the gear bag is back in the trunk, it is Wednesday. That afternoon Blue Beast runs in the living room, and the pads air out on the porch.

Answers Before the Starting Gun

Is Blue Beast only for runners?

No. Nothing in the bag is tied to one sport, and the ingredients are the same whoever books it. Cyclists, swimmers, rowers and league teams have the same shape of weekend as runners: a long effort, then an easy day after it.

What does Blue Beast have that Blue Sky High Energy doesn't?

Vitamin C, and a mineral blend of magnesium, zinc, manganese and copper. Otherwise the two overlap: each carries a B-vitamin complex and the same amino acid blend. Blue Sky High Energy is $299 and Blue Beast is $329.

Can I add Methylcobalamin B12 or anything else to Blue Beast?

You can ask. Methylcobalamin B12 is one of the add-ons that can be mixed into a drip, along with Glutathione, Taurine and Zinc Sulfate. Add-ons and their prices are on the IV menu. Whether any of them belongs in your bag gets decided at the health screening on the day.

Can our training group book together?

Yes. The health screening still happens one person at a time, before any drip goes in.

Race day went wrong and I feel seriously unwell. Who do I call?

Call 911 if it is a medical emergency. Blue Sky IV provides scheduled, non-emergency wellness services. Our visits are not a substitute for emergency or primary medical care. Services are provided under physician supervision where required by applicable law.

Rest Day, Your Place

Today's Workout Is Sitting Still

Pick a time. We'll show up. The address can be your home, a hotel room near the finish or the team's rental, anywhere in Chicago or its suburbs.
