Evanston sits on Lake Michigan just north of the city, and it keeps two calendars at once. One runs on the Metra and the lakefront path in every season. The other runs on syllabi, and it keeps much later hours. Exam weeks run past midnight. Weekends start in downtown Evanston and sometimes finish in the city, with the Purple Line home.
A midterm lands on a Tuesday, a paper is due on Friday, and a shift fills the gap between them. Very little of that leaves an afternoon spare for getting somewhere and waiting to be seen.
So the trip is ours to make. A Wellness Angel comes up to the apartment near campus, the office downtown or the hotel room, and you stay in. In January, with the ice stacked along the shoreline, that is the whole argument.
It starts with three choices: a time, a place in Evanston and the drip you have in mind. Your Wellness Angel arrives in navy Blue Sky IV scrubs, carrying a kit bag with everything the visit needs, and sets up wherever you are settled: the sofa, the dining table, a desk, a hotel armchair.
Every visit starts with an individual health screening. It decides whether the drip you asked for is appropriate for you today, and a visit may be declined based on it. The screening happens where you are, before anything is placed. Services are provided under physician supervision where required by applicable law.
Once the screening is done, your Wellness Angel places the IV and stays with you while it runs. Most drips run 30 to 60 minutes. You can read, answer email or carry on with the afternoon. Add-ons and their prices are on the IV menu. At the end the IV comes out, the kit is packed away, and the room is left the way it was.
When finals arrive, the apartment turns into a study hall, and an afternoon lost to getting across town is an afternoon you do not have. The visit comes to the study hall instead. Notes stay open, headphones stay on, and your Wellness Angel stays beside you while the drip runs.
Not everyone here is enrolled. Parents bring a high-school junior to tour the campus, visiting speakers arrive to give a lecture, and plenty of them end the day in a hotel room. The drip can happen in that room, before the tour starts or after the talk ends, in the chair between the desk and the window.
If you get around Evanston without a car, reaching an appointment means a bus, a train or a favor from a friend, and each of those comes with a wait on a corner. Staying in skips the corner entirely. Your Wellness Angel does the traveling instead, with everything the visit uses already in the kit bag.

Wellness Angels come to every part of Evanston: the streets around campus, the high-rise apartments downtown, the blocks by the water, south Evanston at the Chicago city line and the houses on the west side of town. The lake is the only border we won't cross. There is no Blue Sky IV clinic or storefront; the service is mobile only. Beyond Evanston, the same visit reaches Chicago and the surrounding suburbs in Cook, DuPage, Lake, McHenry, Will, Kane, DeKalb and Winnebago counties, at homes, offices, hotels and events.
Yes. The room is your call, and all of the visit happens in it: the individual health screening, the drip and the packing up afterwards. Your bedroom with the door shut works as well as the living room, as long as there is somewhere comfortable to sit and a little space beside you for the IV stand. Your roommates can carry on with their day on the other side of the door.
No. A drip is not a substitute for emergency or primary medical care, and Blue Sky IV provides scheduled, non-emergency wellness services. If anyone is having a medical emergency, call 911 right away. For any visit, an individual health screening comes first, and a visit may be declined based on it.
