In Orland Park the school year holds the pen from August on: the supply list, the permission slips, a science project due on Thursday. Weekends run a loop of their own. Groceries first, then the hardware store, then the long retail stretch of LaGrange Road, busy on any Saturday and busier in December. In the warmer months the loop moves outdoors, to the forest preserve trails and the ball fields.
Weeks like that are full before they start. A clinic visit would need a slot of its own somewhere on that route.
So the drip travels instead of you. Your Wellness Angel comes to the recliner in the family room, to a quiet bedroom at the end of the hall, to a desk at work, or to the hotel room where half the family checked in for the weekend. The driveway stays full.
The Wellness Angel at your door will be in navy Blue Sky IV scrubs with a kit bag, ready to set up in the room you pick. A finished basement, a sunroom off the kitchen or a hotel room: the set-up is the same in each. If the garage door is the family's usual way in, mention it ahead of the visit. Every visit starts with an individual health screening. It decides whether the drip you asked for is appropriate for you today, and a visit may be declined based on it. Services are provided under physician supervision where required by applicable law. Blue Sky IV provides scheduled, non-emergency wellness services. If you are having a medical emergency, call 911.
The IV is placed only after the screening, and your Wellness Angel keeps you company for the length of the drip. Most drips run 30 to 60 minutes. The school email can wait until it is over, or get answered from the sofa. Afterwards the IV is removed, your Wellness Angel zips the bag, and the house gets its afternoon back.
School is out for an institute day, the kids are home, and an appointment made weeks ago suddenly calls for a sitter. A home visit needs no backup plan. The drip runs wherever you are sitting, and the kids stay where they are, which is almost certainly in front of a screen.
From late November until the January returns are done, the shopping district sets the pace for everyone who lives near it, on both sides of the counter. A weekend that finished the gift list leaves no appetite for another drive. The shopping bags can stay in the hallway where they landed, and the drip comes to you on the couch.
June brings open houses: a tent on the lawn, a slideshow on the garage wall, cousins who drove in for the weekend. If several guests would like a drip, Wellness Angels can come to the party itself and set up in a spare room down the hall. A long guest list is what our Groups & Events page is for.
July means long afternoons at the pool and a grill that gets used most evenings. February means indoor recess, a pile of wet boots by the back door and a car that never quite warms up. Neither month makes a drive across town sound appealing, so the visit comes indoors to you, in whichever room has the best chair.

A house backing onto the forest preserve, a townhome within sight of the shopping district, a ranch on a quiet side street: all of Orland Park is on the route. Blue Sky IV is a mobile service only, with no clinic, no storefront and no address of ours to visit. Unlike the rest of the errands, this one comes with no parking lot. Wellness Angels also travel well past the village, across Chicago and the surrounding suburbs in Cook, DuPage, Lake, McHenry, Will, Kane, DeKalb and Winnebago counties.
There is nothing to buy or borrow: your Wellness Angel brings the drip and the supplies with them. All that is left to you is choosing the room, and a seat you would be happy to stay in for the length of the drip. If anyone else is home, let them know a visit is on the calendar.
